Beale resigns from São Paulo

ENGLISHMAN Michael Beale has resigned from his job as assistant manager of São Paulo.
The 36-year-old left Liverpool, where he was Under-23 boss, to become assistant to Rogerio Ceni at the Brazilian club in December.
Ahead of their game against Flamengo today, Sao Paolo were 16th in the Brazilian league, with 11 points from 10 games.
Beale said: “On Friday, I decided to leave my job at São Paulo Futebol Clube. It was a great experience and adds to the previous experiences in Chelsea and Liverpool.
“The memories and friendships will last for a lifetime. To learn a new language, culture and football environment was something special. The Brazilian people are so warm and friendly too. But it was the right time for me to leave and return home to England.
“Now I am looking forward to having some time as a dad/ husband and waiting to see what opportunities will arise in the future.”
The former Chelsea youth development officer retained a home in Formby, Liverpool, following his move to Brazil.
