STEVE BROWN has been appointed as Head of Coaching by MK Dons after being made redundant by the Football Association.

The former Northampton and Wycombe midfielder was the FA’s Talent ID Manager for the 18 to 20 age group, having joined the organisation in October 2014. He lost his job following a complete overhaul of the department by Head of Team Strategy and Performance Dave Reddin, who has shifted its emphasis from traditional scouting to one based on video, data and analytics.

Brown, who had held the FA post since October 2014, posted on his LinkedIn page: “Closed the door on my FA career after taking redundancy. I had some memorable times there, but my time was short-lived. On to pastures new now.”

Former MK Dons Head of Coaching Richie Barker left to become assistant at Charlton in December 2016 and is now number two at Rotherham.
